Abstract

An efficient physical‐optics formulation in the time domain (TDPO), combined with the finite‐difference time‐domain method (FDTD), is presented to evaluate the near scattered field from a base‐station antenna by a surrounding obstacle. This technique is used to demonstrate compliance guidelines related to human exposure to those antennas in its operational environment. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
