The crystal structure of the isomorphical rare earth borophosphate compounds, Ln 7 O 6 (BO 3 ) (PO 4 ) 2 (Ln؍La, Nd, Gd and Dy), has been studied by a combination of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and vibration spectroscopic techniques. The Raman and infrared specra of these compounds have been in
