The paper discusses the use of natural products and biological control agents in crop protection from an industrial viewpoint. The criteria which must be satisΓed are noted. Examples are given from the genetic engineering of baculoviruses and proteins. The Γnal section considers the utility of natural products as a source of leads for conventional agrochemicals, and the screens needed.
