โฆ Synopsis
A simple model of a four plate structure is assumed and joint continuity conditions enable solution of the differential equations in terms of a single transcendental equation, involving non-dimensional parameters, for each of the four symmetry cases.
The bounds within which solutions must fall are defined in terms of the natural frequencies of the composite plates with fully-fixed or simple supports at joints. Solutions are given for the case of plates with zero aspect ratio.

The free vibration of beams and plates over supports at regular intervals has been analysed using the knowledge of natural flexural waves and the associated propagation constants. It has been shown that the conditions at the extreme ends of a finite, periodic structure, permit only certain discrete
