Communicated by J.P. Hartnett and W.J. Minkowycz) Numerical results are presented for steady-state natural convection in a truncated circular sector of porous medium. Emphasis is placed on the effect of inclination on the buoyancy-induced flows in such a geometry. Two-dimensional natural convective fields for a range of Rayleigh numbers, up to I000, and sector inclined angles, 0 to 180 deg, are investigated. Heat transfer results in terms of the relation between Nusselt numbers, Rayleigh numbers and inclined angles are presented.
