## Abstract It is demonstrated that in a case where neither the proton nor the naturalβabundance ^13^Cβsatellite spectra of a partially oriented molecule carry enough structural information, one can determine the entire molecular geometry by the combined use of several liquid crystals as solvents.

β¦ Synopsis
It has been demonstrated that the natural abundance 2 H NMR spectra of molecules dissolved in liquid crystals can be obtained easily with the help of present-day high-resolution FT NMR spectrometers. Such spectra obtained in the case of benzene and chloroform dissolved in liquid crystals are reported. These experiments could serve as valuable aids for the analysis of the complex proton NMR spectra of oriented molecules.

It is shown that the proton NMR spectra of molecules containing rare spins at natural abundance dissolved in a liquid crystalline solvent can be obtained free from the strong lines from the spectrum of the abundant isotopomer by the 2D HSQC NMR experiment. The technique can also give the individual
