Issues studied by

Peabody (1985)

in a study of national stereotypes were investigated again in a secondary analysis of public opinion data from the general public in a number of European countries. A convergence in stereotyping among perceiver groups was shown. In contrast with Peabody's results, strong ingroup favouritism was found.
