The field trial is for an initial period of three months, and may be extended by agreement. CFCL and ETTA will work together to finalize the timetable for the site preparation works and delivery of the unit in the next few months. This is the second field trial contract signed by CFCL. The first, with New Zealand electric utility Powerco, was signed last November for two units. CFCL is also in negotiations for other field trials in Australia and Europe. 'These first units to go to Powerco will feature our newest fuel cells,' says Julian Dinsdale, executive chairman of CFCL. 'The fuel cell stack within this unit will be smaller than originally anticipated, while still supplying the same power.
