✦ Synopsis
The title compound was synthesized by the tronsannular reaction of E2.21(1,3)azulenophane and subsequent dehydrogenotion. It exhibits characteristic electronic absorption bonds extended to neor IR region (-1400 nm) and its PMR spectrum indicates the presence of large ring current. MO calculations suggest no bond alternation in the entire II system.
