✦ Synopsis

The twentieth century has seen many breakthrough in electronics. It has passed the era of vacuum valve to the most sophisticated semiconducting technology. Semiconductor have dominated the electronic industry since last three decades and it is believed that it would still dominate for a decade to come. In face it has followed the well known "Moore's law" which indicated that the performance of semiconductor devices doubles roughly every 18-24 months. The increase in performance has been achieved mainly by shrinking the size of individual transistors. But there is a need to look for altogether a research programme leading to future device. The critical size set for potential device is -3Onm and the whole world is concentrating on the research projects around it.

obtained from an identical system with a single cover solar collector. These last data are then compared to the results obtained in a particular month from the experimental study of a prototype with equivalent components, tested in Tunisia. The TIM cover's system proved to be about 40% more efficien
