## Abstract The original article to which this Erratum refers was published in __Journal of Molecular Recognition__ **13**:167β187.
Urotropine is a convenient molecular scaffold in the formation of linear to macrocyclic supramolecular assembly with designed phenolic substrates based on both conventional O-H/N and unconventional C-H/O hydrogen bonds in molecular recognition studies.
The clemgn of a novel family of tricycfic scaffolds for use in molecular recognition is described. The synthesis of the most simple member of this fnmily is prescmted and its use exemplified in the synthesis of receptor 2.
