✦ Synopsis
A comparative study of laser-produced nanocomposite ternary Si-C-N powders, obtained from different Sill 4, amines and NH 3 mixtures, is presented. It is shown that the final composition of powders is correlated with and may be controlled by the experimental parameters. Preliminary results on laser irradiation of Sill4, NH 3 and (CH3)3AI mixtures demonstrate the possibility of producing nanosized powders composed of a matrix of Si3N 4 with a different content of AI.

Absolute rate coefficient for the gas-phase reaction of NO 3 with 3-fluoropropene has been measured using the discharge-flow technique coupled to a LIF detection system for a range of temperatures from 296 K to 430 K. The measured room temperature rate constant is (0.39 Ϯ 0.02) ϫ 10 Ϫ14 molecule Ϫ1
## Abstract The results from the laser‐ablation Fourier transform mass spectrometric examination of a variety of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), coals and other geochemically related materials are presented. Both molecular and quasi‐molecular ions have been detected from different ring‐sized PAHs
