✦ Synopsis
After curarisation and decerebration the pulmonary vein and the abdominal vein of frogs are eanulated respectively. Small amounts of Thorotrast are injected, the distribution of which is followed afterwards in the circulation by X-ray photography,
The arterial blood of the pulmonary veins marked by this means will appear nearly exclusively in the arteries of the head and the aorta, while the marked venous blood of the abdominal vein will be found later nearly entirely in the puhnonary circulation. There does exist a very distinctive functional separation of venous and arterial blood in the univentricular frog heart.
