✦ Synopsis
The structure of disodium zinc germanide, Na 2 ZnGe, has been determined from single-crystal data and is reported for the first time. The compound crystallizes in the Na 2 CuAs structure type. The structure is built of Na + ions (8g position) and infinite zigzag chains of (ZnGe) 2À parallel to the c axis (Zn and Ge atoms are in 4b and 4c positions, respectively).
