✦ Synopsis
Emission spectra of the electronic transition (B{ }^{3} \mathrm{I}{g} \rightarrow A^{3} \mathrm{y}{u}^{+})of the nitrogen molecule have been recorded from a pulsed microwave excited plasma in order to determine the feasibility of high-information time-resolved Fourier spectroscopy. A sequence of 32 time spectra, each one extending from 8676 to (17352 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}), observed with good signal-to-noise ratio and Dopplerlimited spectral resolution of (0.03 \mathrm{~cm}^{-1}), has been obtained in a single experiment with a temporal resolution of (3 \mu \mathrm{sec}). These first high-information time-resolved results from Fourier transform spectroscopy are presented to illustrate the power of this new 100 for dynamic studies. ic 1994 Academic Press. Inc.
