✦ Synopsis

The title compound, C 14 H 19 N 3 O 7 S, is a potent new herbicide. X-ray analysis reveals that the nitro group is twisted away from the benzene ring and the glutamine residue adopts a folded conformation. The crystal packing is stabilized by intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO and O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds.
