The title compound, C 20 H 19 N 3 O 3 Á1.5H 2 O, has two organic molecules in the asymmetric unit which differ in conformation. The two independent molecules and three water molecules are linked into layers by O-HÁ Á ÁO, O-HÁ Á ÁN and N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds.
