Low-spin d4 complexes with formulae [Fe&C.NR& j %Fz exhl%it magnetically perturbed Miissbauer spectra at 4.2 K which are consistent with the ljresence of singJet electronic ground states. These Carl arise by spin-orbit coupling in second order. Magnetic susceptibili;;y measurements support the MBssbauer data.
