✦ Synopsis
Chemical analysis ofthc nitrosobenzenepentacyanoferrate complex pave a composition Na3Fc(CN)SNCCdIs -2HzO. Structural studies showed that the electronic structure of the iron is very similar to that in sodium nitroprusside.
The cffectivc number of iron d-electrons proved to be 0.12 more than in sodium nitroprusside p!bnbly as the result of clectmn donation by the benzene ring to the NO group.
