There’s something Sarah Anderson doesn’t know about Jake Baker. Well, it’s been seven years since she saw him so there’s a lot she doesn’t know… She doesn’t know that he’s a decorated war hero, she doesn’t know that he’s been awarded a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor for saving a fellow soldier… and she definitely doesn’t know that he’s been thinking about her all this time! So yes, a lot of stuff. But what she does know is that all he left her with was a note before he disappeared, even skipping out on his own graduation ceremony…and that was that. She took it quite hard, I mean the guy didn’t even bother to give her a goodbye kiss. But the thing is…something happened, something bad…and things got kind of complicated…. Sarah hasn’t been in a serious relationship since Jake. She’s got no time for it. She’s been focusing all her energy on climbing the ladder at work…and things are going great. It’s Monday morning she’s ready to attack the week when her boss says: “I’d like you all to give a warm welcome to our new Senior Account Manager, Jake Baker.” Shit. My hand jerks involuntarily and I spill coffee all over my blouse. “Shit!” The word slips out just as I look up and make eye contact with the guy who Serena has ushered through the door. A guy I know well. My ex-boyfriend. “Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome,” he grins, looking directly at me, his eyes resting briefly on my freshly stained blouse. You have got to be kidding me. “What the hell is wrong with you?” Amanda stage whispers in my ear. I kick her under the table. “Ow!” She is the least subtle person ever. I can’t believe my ex just walked into my work meeting. Mondays really are the worst. Trust me, he’s just as surprised to see her as she is him! So what do you think happens when you come face to face with the person you thought you were going to marry?! Talk about a tense situation! Sound interesting yet? But it gets even better. On this exact same day, Serena announces that Peter & Bowers, one of the biggest AD Agencies in New York City, has a newly created Vice President of Social Media position. She all but hands it to Sarah, this is exactly what she’s been working for…till Jake decides to throw his name in to the hat! It’s just the two of them so the agency pits them against each other in a competition for the coveted spot! The one with the biggest social media following at the end of the month wins… …but hey…a lot of things can happen between exes in a month, right? With the amount of baggage these guys are carrying for each other … you can bet they’re not going to pull any punches. They throw everything at each other but the kitchen sink…in a series of one-upmanship tactics that get out of hand REALLY quickly! Add in some co-conspiring from Sarah’s bestie Amanda and…it’s like you’re playing with matches while you’re sitting on a powder keg! Oh, and let’s not even mention the sexual tension! Where is THAT going to go?
