When Jake Soubrette arrives at Kate Harringtons lodge, in the small town of Mountain Springs, Utah, he finds himself immediately attracted to her. He tells her he is an attorney on sabbatical from his law firm in Los Angeles. In reality, he works for USCIS out of Washington, D.C., sent to investigate a health spa, which brings Oriental girls to the U.S., promising to find them American husbands. Instead, they are placed in houses of prostitution and told they must work off their passage money to America.
Shortly after his arrival in Mountain Springs, a body of one of the Oriental girls who works at the health spa is found in the National Forest service. As Jake searches for the killer, he also attempts to find the owner of the health spa. His investigation not only jeopardizes his blossoming relationship with Kate but also her life.
