✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Macrosquare‐wave jerks consist of high‐amplitude saccadic intrusions occurring mainly during fixation that are observed in several disease entities, e.g., multiple sclerosis or parkinsonian syndromes, but very rarely in patients with multiple system atrophy. We present here a patient with multiple system atrophy exhibiting the oculomotor feature of macrosquare‐wave jerks. © 2004 Movement Disorder Society

## Abstract We describe a 51‐year‐old man who developed awake bruxism during the course of multiple system atrophy. Electromyographic studies revealed side‐to‐side amplitude asymmetry of the bursts of motor activity. The bruxism responded favourably to low‐dose levodopa–carbidopa therapy. Possible

Dysphagia is a frequent complication in Parkinson's disease (PD). 1 There is evidence that deep brain stimulation (DBS) improves PD motor symptoms, such as tremors and rigidity, but there is little research evaluating DBS on dysphagia improvement in PD. 2 We report a case of a PD patient with severe
