The continuum OS MS Xa method is used to interpret the multiple resonances observed in the electron transmisrion spectra of tetracbloroetbylene and 1,ldichloroethylene~ Good apeement wth expenment is found for these moiecuks and for their fluorine anaiogues which exhibit one shape resonance. Dissociative electron attachment studieson the halo-genoe~ylenes are mterpreted in detail. * The nodal properties of ~oiec~ orbit& of similar molecules are displayed in ref. 191.
