A continuous section of Numidian sandstones cropping out along the eastern margin of the Lucanian Apennine (southern Italy) has been studied in relation to its petrographic and geochemical aspects. Owing to their simple mineralogy, both chemical and petrographic classiยฎcations indicate that the sand

โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
The temporal patterns of seismic sequences frequently show multifractal features. This is seen in the clustering properties of 1983โ1998 seismicity data from the southern Apennine Chain (Italy), one of the most seismically active regions of the Mediterranean area. The results from a multifractal analysis of the temporal distribution of seismic events suggest that the intermittent character of the sequence does not depend on the threshold magnitude.
