Abstract

A coupled channel formulation for the static Stark effect on the hydrogen atom is used to obtain directly the complex resonance energies through an iterative matching procedure. The formulation makes use of a complex coordinate. This solves the initialization problem in a very simple way, since the boundary conditions can be those used for bound states. A comparison is made with the results of Reinhardt and collaborators who expand the complex rotated resonance wave function in a basis of integrable functions.
