✦ Synopsis

We give the complete set of spontaneous (½ 0 0) antiferromagnetic structures which can develop on a simple cubic lattice. By means of Fourier analysis and molecular field approximation, we then discuss the relation between these structures' stability and the dispersion curves of the quadrupolar interactions. The different types of structures and their relative energies are also considered for the case of field-induced structures. The results of this work give a framework for the study and understanding of the H-T phase diagrams of (½00) cubic antiferromagnets.
