✦ Synopsis
This paper describes a scanner developed to link analytical instruments to a desktop calculator in a laboratory for clinical chemistry. The analytical instruments connected to the scanner use the RS-232 C standard for information exchange. This scanner permits the connection of an almost unlimited number of analytical instruments with a simple desktop calculator having a restricted number of possible interface slots.
