โœฆ Synopsis

Meet Adem. Golem. Fighter. Magic.

Torn apart by war and abandoned by the gods, only one hope remains to save humanity. But the savior isnโ€™t human at all.

Trapped by his Makerโ€™s command to protect a mysterious box, Adem is forced to kill anyone who tries to steal it. When a young boy chances upon Ademโ€™s temple, he resists temptation, intriguing the golem. As the boy and his sister convince Adem to leave the refuge of his temple, the group lands in a web of trouble.

Now Adem will do whatever necessary to keep his new young charges safe, even if it means risking all to get rid of the box. Their saving grace comes in the form of an angel who offers to set Adem free of the boxโ€™s magic by granting his greatest desireโ€”making him human.

But first, Adem must bring back the angelโ€™s long-dead human love from the Underworld. In doing so, he will risk breaking the barrier between the realms, a cataclysm that could launch the Third Realm War. To set things right, he may be forced to give up the only thing heโ€™s ever truly wantedโ€ฆa chance at a soul of his own. ****

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Q: Tell us about you.

A: Iโ€™m a born and raised D.C. girl, but currently Iโ€™m living in Florida with my husband and our miniature pinscher Pippi. (No free museums, but beach! So, overall, I consider it a wash.) In my real life, I have a background in marketing and public relations, and offer freelance and consulting services with an emphasis on content strategy. I also founded genre short story website wordhaus.com, am a regular contributor to The Write Life and DIYMFA, and offer an online platforming coaching program for authors.

Q: What books do you write? A: I write fantasy and science fiction. That said, Iโ€™ll likely spend my writing career jumping around significantly between subgenres (which Iโ€™m sure agents and publishers are going to really love). Urban fantasy? YA dystopian sci-fi? Epic fantasy? These are all genres I have stories for developing in my mind right now.

CHRONICLES OF THE THIRD REALM WAR 1. RAIN (novella) 2. MUD (book 1) 3. TIDES (book 2)

Q: Why should readers pick up your books? A: If you like to let your imagination go off the deep end, youโ€™ll likely enjoy the Chronicles of the Third Realm War. Itโ€™s a dark spin on the epic quest, with a protagonist who just seems hopeless in a lot of waysโ€”with some fun Judeo-Christian and Greek mythology folded in. But at its core, I think the series is actually very soulful.

Review

"Wenstrom's debut is the catalyst for a planned series of fantasy war tales, kicked off with this thoroughly expanded retelling of the Orpheus myth...the clever use of weathered fantasy tropes and occasionally lovely turns of phrase will propel readers into book two." - Publishers Weekly

"MUD, I loved this book!! So unique so engaging, a Keeper and must read!!" - Nelsonville Public Library, Heather Bennett

"I really like books about uncommon supernatural creatures, so, when I saw MUD had a golem as the protagonist, I jumped at the chance to read it. A well-written and enjoyable read." - Metaphors and Moonlight, Kristen Burns

"There's something primal in Mud. It's a reverent, mythical story of supernatural beings who justify desperate measures in their quest to feel complete. They struggle with emotions we all understand, even as they challenge the very rules that govern all of creation." - Fantasy Author, Robert Wiesehan
