✦ Synopsis

Mrs. Tuesday'sВ DepartureВ

A heart-wrenching historicalВ novel spanning fifty-years, two continents, and a an imagined story that holdsВ the power to create a safe future for a young girl. This page-turning family
saga soars to a breathtaking ending that redefines the meaning of love.В

When Natalie andВ Anna, sisters and life-long rivals, hide an abandoned child from the Nazis,
their struggle re-opens a star-crossed love triangle, threatening their safetyВ and testing the bonds of their loyalty.В

Hungary's fragile alliance with Germany insured thatВ Natalie, a best selling children's book author, and her family would be safe asВ World War Two raged through Europe. The Holocaust that has only been whisperedВ about until now becomes a terrible reality for every Jewish family or those whoВ hide Jews.В В

Beautiful but troubled Anna, a poet and university professorВ is losing her tenuous hold on reality, re-igniting a dangerous sibling rivalry thatВ began in childhood. В

The streets of Budapest echo with the pounding boots of NaziВ soldiers. Danger creeps to the doorstep where the sisters' disintegratingВ relationship threatens to expose the child they are trying to protect. In oneВ night, Anna's rash behavior destroys their carefully made plans of escape, andВ Natalie is presented with a desperate choice.

Interwoven with Natalie and Anna's story, is Mila's. TheВ abandoned child whose future Natalie lovingly imagines in a story about an old womanВ named Mrs. Tuesday. В

Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is an inspirational historical novelВ spanning two generations, exploring the un-breakable bonds of sisters, and the power of love to create new futures.

Review

  • **"A study in character developement, Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is a mezmerizing historical fiction for WWII readers. Highly recommended!"В~ The Kindle Book Review
  • An excellent intricate tale that is impossible to put down. Every character comes to life chapter by a chapter. Recommend it highly ~digtheisland
  • ***Five stars -***В recommend for book group - Susan
  • As a WWii nut, I knew I would be hypercritical. There was no need for that! The book flows and makes sense at a time that was senseless. I had no problem following the characters as they were all vibrant and very lifelike. - Cheryl

From the Author

What you read today is Mrs. Tuesday's Departure in its original form. Not the third-person POV that I first published on Amazon.com.

The important changes that you will find in this new (original) version are:

It's written in the First Person Point of View, which gives it a more intimate feel, which as it turns out, is the right POV for a story about a family experiencing the most terrifying moments of war.

Second, it's actually set in Budapest, Hungary during World War Two, not in the fictional other-world described in the first edition.

And finally, it has a spiritual element that explores a particular element of religious faith that has always perplexed me....the challenge of believing in something we cannot see.

I resurrected the original manuscript and set to work dusting it off and making a few changes, hopefully clearing up things that in reviews of the first Mrs. Tuesday release had caused consternation for some readers. I believe that having returned the book to its original form it has improved the story's experience for you, the reader.

I always enjoy hearing from readers through the reviews here on Amazon.com. Please leave a message and let me know your thoughts!
