✦ Synopsis
This new book on endovascular techniques is a successor to the previous Endovascular Intervention: Current Controversies (2004). It provides up to date information on recent developments in this field, including all practical details on new devices. The growing experience with endovascular treatments is summarized in six parts focusing on the different pathologies for which these techniques have been applied: abdominal aortic aneurysm, thoracic aortic disease, carotid disease, lower limb arterial disease and venous disease; in the last part some interesting chapters on vascular trauma, arteriovenous fistula and thoracic outlet syndrome have been added. Each chapter gives a concise overview of available techniques and tries to define what the evidence is for using them in daily practice. In many instances 'frequently asked questions' receive a clear-cut answer. At the end of each chapter a practical summary reminds the reader of the key points. This book is a valuable tool for all physicians involved in the treatment of patients with vascular disease. It might be of particular interest to trainees, technologists and nurses, because of its simple and practically oriented approach.
