✦ Synopsis

An artifact due to the metal joint of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt resulted in a diagnosis of severe internal carotid artery stenosis at magnetic resonance angiography. Conventional x-ray angiography showed the presence of the metal joint and revealed that the artery was not etenotic. Index terms: Artlfact * Carotld arter. les.
