Abstract

If three points on a circle are rotated around the circle in such a way that the lengths of two sides of the triangle they define do not change, then neither does the length of the third side. If instead of a circle we consider the unit sphere of a norm in a two‐dimensional normed space, then the above property characterizes the ellipses. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
