β¦ Synopsis
Despite randomized controlled trial data supporting the use of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) to reduce the incidence of breast cancer, to the authors' knowledge uptake has been limited. Similar to cardiovascular risk models, the routine use of breast cancer risk prevention models in the clinical setting to identify those patients at highest risk of developing breast cancer can maximize the riskβbenefit ratio of SERMs and provide an impetus to move forward with implementing breast cancer prevention.
