✦ Synopsis
potential eects of global warming on the magnitude and nature of soil erosion and wetland loss in the Mediterranean lands. Much work has now been done on the interaction of vegetation and erosion, particularly in Iberia. It is also clear that the Mediterranean erosional environment is sensitive to changes in precipitation. Thus some acknowledgement of the potential for climate change to aect at least some processes and rates of land degradation in the next century would have been warranted. However, no book of this type can ever be truly complete and a hearty welcome for this generally excellent volume is in order.
