โฆ Synopsis
The motion of a man-made celestial body under the influence of aa attractive center according to the inverse square Newton's law and a general force is discussed. A solution of special form, referred to a specific inertial coordinate system, is established. For the time-dependent coeficients of the solution MacLaurin expansions are taken. It is proven that the formal solution constructed satisfies all the requirements needed for really being a solution of the physical problem; besides its region of convergence is found. The problem is specialized in the case of a constant force. The case of suddenly or gradually applied forces is also examined.
