When portions of the cytoplasm of fibroblasts cultured from mouse embryo tissues are irradiated with heterochromatic microbeams of ultraviolet light. lymphocytes arc attracted (Lymphotaxis) to the injured areas. The lymphocytes approach in the "hand mirror'' shape characteristic of tissue cultures.
