This book is a little too dear for most of our American trainees in hepatology. Nonetheless, it is a fine addition to the gastroenterology and hepatology section's library and will serve as a frequently used resource for fellows and faculty. My copy is beginning to show signs of wear, mainly on the cover, but the binding is strong and the paper is of high quality. I expect it to survive, largely intact, until the fourth edition replaces it.
