Martín se instala en un particular motel de carretera mientras huye de una situación incómoda con su novia, exactamente en el MOTEL MALIBU. Durante su estancia, suceden cosas muy extrañas que le plantean regresar cuanto antes. Junto a su turbia presencia, encontrará a Rufus, un recepcionista autista que agota su tiempo grabando al resto con una cámara de vídeo doméstica, y a Penélope, una pelirroja camarera impertinente que aparenta menos edad de la que posee y que lo seducirá retrasando su viaje de vuelta, un regreso que esconde muchos cabos sin atar. Los moteles de carretera son el refugio de todos aquellos que esconden algo en sus vidas, y Martín no es una excepción. Agresiones, sexo violento, simbolismo y personajes perturbados en un ambiente desolador que conducirá dos historias paralelas a un final particular.
