β¦ Synopsis
The morphology of carbon nanotubes synthesized by arc discharge in a CF 4 gas atmosphere was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The electronic properties of these nanotubes were investigated by electron spin resonance. The synthesis conditions in CF 4 gas were then compared with those in CH 4 , H 2 and He based on these results. Furthermore, the mechanism of tube growth in CF 4 gas was discussed briefly.

The Raman spectra of carbon nanotubes prepared by catalytic (C-CNT) and d.c. arc discharge (D-CNT) methods are reported. A previously unnoticed third-order Raman peak at ca. 4248 cm-1 was observed in the Raman spectrum of D-CNT. The Raman features of D-CNT and C-CNT are similar to those of highly or
## Abstract This communication describes the morphology and DC conductivity of poly(__N__βvinylcarbazole) (PNVC)/multiβwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) nanocomposite. The nanocomposite has been synthesized by solid state in situ polymerization of __N__βvinylcarbazole (NVC) monomer in the presence o
