✦ Synopsis
A hexane extract of Ferula jaeschkeana has been studied for effects on ovarian and uterine morphology in immature rats. Its administration significantly increased the ovarian and uterine wet weights and caused opening and cornification of the vagina. Histological features of the ovary revealed the presence of interstromal septa. Interestingly the ovaries in 45 day treated rats showed structures similar to corpea lutea. A significant increase was observed in the height of the luminal epithelium and the number of uterine glands.
