## Abstract We investigated the fate of proliferating cells in the adult monkey brain after global ischemia. We used the thymidine analogue bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) to label Sβphase cells and their progeny in Japanese macaques subjected to global cerebral ischemia for 20 min or to a sham operation.

## Abstract Chronic lead exposure during development is known to produce learning deficits. In the present study, we investigated the effects of developmental exposure to lead on spatial memory, as shown in the Morris water maze, and on expression of inducible cyclooxygenaseβ2 protein in the hippoc
In an earlier paper (Larsson, '62) it was reported that bilateral lesions in the lateral parieto-temporal area of the cerebral hemispheres have more severe effects upon the mating behavior of male rats than injury to the medial parts of the frontal, parietal, and occipital lobes. It has been reported that the acoustic thalamus of the rat sends projection fibers to both the temporal cortical areas and the lateral amygdaloid nucleus to mediate conditioned emotional responses to an acoustic stimulus. In the present study, fluorescent retrograde double labeling with Fast Blue an
