โฆ Synopsis
I gas industry has seen this decade. Natural gas pipelines in North America have announced a variety of new projects to move incremental supplies of Western Canadian natural gas to the U.S. Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets.
Together, all of the projects proposed represent much more capacity than is necessary to bring supply and demand into balance between west and east. As a result, just like the rush to the Northeast market in the late 1980s spurred on by the Iroquois pipeline project, there will be winners, losers, and rationalizations. The project owners will race down the track, jockeying to determine which projects will ultimately bring new supplies of gas to key areas in the North American market place.
The only sure bet is that TransCanada will be a key player in this process.
