The concept of generalized partially balanced incomplete block (PBIB) design is introduced. Generalized PBIB designs are shown to be useful for the construction of equireplicate balanced block designs, pairwise balanced designs and BIB designs.

โฆ Synopsis
From a Frobenius group G = N x 0 ff~ with kernel N and complement 4, one can sometimes construct new balanced incomplete block designs by taking as blocks the translations in N of blocks made from the union of the nontrivial orbits of โข of a and -a in N together with the trivial orbit {0}.
