✦ Synopsis

Neutrino-less double beta decays (0Ξ½Ξ²Ξ²) are used for high sensitivity studies of symmetry properties of neutrinos such as the Majorana nature of neutrinos, the absolute mass scale, the CP at the lepton sector, and others. Neutrino nuclear responses (0Ξ½Ξ²Ξ² nuclear matrix elements) are crucial for extracting these neutrino properties from 0Ξ½Ξ²Ξ² experiments. This is a brief report of the present status of MOON (spectroscopic 0Ξ½Ξ²Ξ² experiment) with the Ξ½-mass sensitivity of 100-30 meV, and experimental ways to study the neutrino nuclear responses. * The author thanks the MOON and CER collaborations for discussions.

Single Ξ²-decay of 187 Re and double Ξ²-decay are discussed for probing absolute masses of neutrinos. It is shown that 187 Re decay is dominated by p-wave emission of the electron over s-wave. Double Ξ²-decay nuclear matrix elements relevant to the neutrino mass mechanism are discussed in the view poin
