✦ Synopsis
Combining a wa¨elet transform and banded-matrix itera-(
) ti¨e approachrcanonical grid method BMIArCG , an efficient algorithm for sol¨ing the large-scale electromagnetic problems is proposed. Based on the concept of the multiresolution analysis, the banded matrix associated with the strong near interactions in the BMIAr CG method is compressed to reduce the required storage and computational cost by using a screening window wa¨elet transform scheme. For the weak far interactions, the contributions are translated into the canonical-grid mesh by using a Taylor's series expansion so that the fast Fourier transform can be applied. Monte Carlo simulations of the electromagnetic scattering from one-dimensional lossy dielectric rough surfaces are then performed to illustrate the numerical efficiency of the proposed method.
