✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A monopole antenna with modified ground plane is presented for 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless local area network applications in this article.A trapezoid patch and a quasifractal slotted patch are printed on two FR‐4 dielectric substrates as the radiator and the ground plane of the antenna, respectively. The element of the quasifractal slot structure is a circular ring with four branches. The radiation characteristics are simulated and experimentally verified, and the results show that the proposed antenna has good radiation performance. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
