โœฆ Synopsis

Monochromatic Light Absorption by Chicken Erythrocytes. A

Correcfion.--J. O. ELY AND M. H. Ross. The authors reported in a previous paper (1) that the maximum absorption of monochromatic light, obtained from a quartz-mercury-vapor lamp, by the nuclei of chicken erythrocytes was at 2808 A. Re-investigation has shown that that report was erroneous and that, of the various spectral bands of the quartz-mercury-vapor light, the greatest absorption by chicken erythrocytes was found to be at 2654 A. Table [ shows the extinction coefficients of severalosamples of chicken oerythrocytes for the wave
