✦ Synopsis
Ba,_,Pb,TiO,/BaTiO, composite particles with a core-shell structure were prepared by the reaction between BaTiO, and molten PbCl,. The composition of the shell region of the resulting composite particles was controlled by changing the mole ratio of PbCl,/BaTiO,. By using a sintered BaTiO, compact, a bulk Ba, _,Pb,TiO,/BaTiO, composite was formed. This contained compensational concentration gradients of Ba and Pb in the * 20 p,rn thick Ba, _,PbxTiO, layer, of which the outer region had the composition Ba,,,Pb,,,TiO,.
