Molecular Biology o] Arsenic Carcinogenesis

Summary. These investigations demonstrate a depression of replication (DNAsynthesis) and an interruption of the enzymatic dark repair mechanism in human epidermal cells by inorganic arsenic.

Among other enzymes arsenic seems to block predominantly DNA-polymerase by linking to StI-groups. This may be an explication of arsenical carcinogenesis.
