The excited state proton transfer reaction was studied for carbazole (CAZL) in non-ionic (Triton X-100), cationic (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)) and anionic (sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS)) micelles. The micelles strongly affect the equilibrium quotient of the process. Taking the excited stat
